Writer’s Resource: Scrivener

Scrivener

Scrivener is a writing program offered by Literature and Latte. They are another sponsor of NaNo and offer a free 30 day trial. Scrivener offers tool such as a corkboard, files for easy formatting, a place to store research, and easy import/export from other software.

As I mentioned in a previous post, there is a free alternative, with less functionality offered through SpaceJock Software. Also available is Jami Gold’s Scrivener template beat sheet.

Writer’s Resource: Beat Sheets

Story Planning Worksheets

Jami Gold, a paranormal romance and urban fantasy author, created a spreadsheet that works around the Beat Sheets Blake Snyder shares in his book, Save The Cat. As if that weren’t enough, she created many more based on other writing techniques, among them Larry Brooks’ Story Engineering.

Depending on your writing style, (pantser vs plotter, character vs plot) there should be something that will help organize that amazing idea into something resembling a story.

May the Muse be with you,
